COVID –19 Update
To all our loyal patients and friends
We hope this letter finds you and your family in good health
As you may be aware the Chief Dental officer of England has said that Dental Practices are able to reopen from the 8th June 2020. Although this is great news, we nor any other dental practices were party to this information before the public announcement on the BBC news. This has not given us much time to prepare with ordering essential personal protective equipment, PPE for patients and staff alike. Without this equipment Dentists, Hygienists and nurses are not safe to treat patients as normal and as you are aware the hospitals have had a bigger need than us for PPE
However , please be re-assured there is a lot of work going on behind the scenes at present to ensure the highest levels of safety and infection control for you and our staff.
Our practice is aiming to re-open on Monday 15th June but I want to make it clear that it will not be business as usual, it is going to take some time before all services return to what you have experienced in the past. We very much appreciate your patience throughout this time and are looking forward to seeing you again.
There will be 3 Phases of reopening at the practice
Our commitment to you is about safety and infection control which has always been a priority at the Gallery Dental Practice.
Our practice follows guidelines from our governing bodies and our infection control procedures have been updated to the new Standard operating procedures and you will see many changes when you visit us so when you receive care you will feel safe and comfortable.
We will also create clinics for the most vulnerable group to help minimise contact with others while you are at the practice
We will have greater time between patient appointments as well as reduced numbers of patients in our waiting areas.
To prioritise those patients who have had an Emergency / Urgent treatment that have been in contact with us throughout the lockdown period.
Please only call us if you fit into Phase 1 as our phone lines will be extremely busy.
Phase 2 ( Date to be announced )
Recementing of crowns and previously planned crown fittings , Fillings , Extractions and Root canal fillings.
We will contact you to book appointments.
Phase 3 ( Date to be announced )
Dental check ups and Hygiene appointments
We will contact you to book appointments
How can you help:
With the exception of parents and carers, patients should come alone
2 metres MUST always be observed if another patient is in the practice
We are sorry we cannot accept cash at this time and Only card payments will be accepted
If you show symptoms following an appointment booking you should contact us by phone
Please DO not arrive early for your appointment as you will asked to wait outside in a safe place or in your car until a member of the team has called you in or contacted you on your mobile number
Please DO not arrive at the practice without an appointment as it is bookings only for the time being
Patients should come wearing a mask or they will be given a mask by a member of the team
Hand sanitiser will be provided on entry and clinical waste bins at exits
Your personal items ie handbag, mobile phone, coat will be put into a sterile box and on leaving they will be returned to you
Thank you again for your patience and understanding
Ajitha and Team
